The Advantages of Choosing the Professionals at R & R Bookkeepers to Help Prepare and Lodge your BAS and IAS
Even if you take care of your own bookkeeping and payroll on a day-to-day basis, it can be very beneficial and time saving to employ a registered BAS Agent to take care of your monthly and quarterly ATO (Australian Taxation Office) obligations.
R & R Bookkeepers is a registered BAS Agent with the Tax Practitioners Board. This means that we have completed the necessary training and related registrations in order to be considered fit to manage GST and BAS related issues, and we are approved by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to do so. In addition, we must also abide by a strict code of conduct.
Why should you use a registered BAS Agent?
When you use a registered BAS Agent to lodge your Business Activity Statement (BAS), you can have peace of mind knowing that your accounts have been thoroughly checked by a qualified and experienced bookkeeping professional. We can help you make sure that your Business Activity Statement (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statement (IAS) are 100% correct. This in turn means that you eliminate any cash flow deficiencies that could potentially occur, not to mention that getting these important statements lodged in time means that you won’t incur a late penalty.
If you make a mistake and understate your obligations with the ATO, it will bring you a nasty surprise when your year-end paperwork is complete. On the other hand, if you overstate your obligations you will have to pay more for that given month/quarter, which will immediately have a negative effect on your business’ cashflow.
Here are some more important reasons why employing a registered BAS Agent can help your business:
You Are Fully Covered
You can benefit from being covered by the ATO Safe Harbour, which states that a registered BAS Agent must take reasonable care in ascertaining a client’s state of affairs.
BAS Lodgement Extensions
You can get access to BAS lodgement extensions which are only available to BAS Agents using the ATO Portal. If any BAS related matters arise, such as late lodgements, we are authorised to liaise with the ATO on your behalf.
Regular Business Health-Checks
As an included service, we also help you reconcile your books on a quarterly basis. This is like conducting a health-check on your business and it ensures that you are heading in the right direction.
Professional Indemnity Insurance
We also have Professional Indemnity Insurance in place for everybody’s peace of mind.
